Shaped for many years by salt production and the paper industry, Hallein/Bad Dürrnberg has developed into a strong business location. Thanks to a steady increase in attractive jobs, innovative educational opportunities, a lively gastronomic scene and the high quality of life, the city is constantly unfolding its full economic power.

Large companies such as Bosch, Emco Group, Erdal or AustroCel Hallein are important job guarantors and have remained loyal to the Hallein/Bad Dürrnberg business location for many years. But the 9,700 employees work in a total of around 1,500 Hallein businesses – and these consist of a healthy mix of commercial, industrial, craft and service companies. Among them are also small high-tech companies such as Advanced Engineering or JES Elektrotechnik, which are conquering the world in their sector from Hallein.
